Greetings All,

Life in much of Sierra Leone can be characterized as fearful. Banditry is rampant. Both "rebels" and elements with the government army have been implicated in this banditry.

I'm reminded of life in the old American West.

As I read of renewed attacks on Njala and Kenema, I wonder how will the countryside of Sierra Leone be cleared of bandits? Even if the principals agree to a cessation of hostilities, will the bandits listen? If not, then what is to be done?

Regards,

Jeff @ Washington, DC USA
